Cardiac Care Unit at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital

The Barrington Area Development Council (BADC) played a pivotal role in the successful 2005 development of the Wayne and Patricia Kocourek Family Cardiac Care Center at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. As part of the capital campaign, the Kresge Foundation [of Troy, Michigan] established a $850,000 challenge grant, contingent upon the community securing a significant volume of new donors.

To meet this challenge, BADC spearheaded the grassroots educational and fundraising outreach. By launching an extensive awareness campaign targeting local service organizations and area municipalities, BADC successfully engaged more than 1,600 new donors. In recognition of these vital efforts, Larry Narum, Vice President of Development at Good Shepherd Hospital, formally commended BADC for its leadership in community mobilization and fundraising success.
