Barrington Area Digital Photo Gallery (BADPG)
The Barrington Area Digital Photo Gallery (BADPG) serves as a premier community resource dedicated to capturing and preserving the natural beauty of the Barrington region. Founded on the principle that appreciating local landscapes and wildlife fosters a deeper commitment to environmental conservation, the gallery offers a unique intersection of art and stewardship.
The concept was first introduced to the Barrington Area Development Council (BADC) Board of Directors in the summer of 2021 as a permanent educational and preservation asset. Recognizing its value, the BADC board enthusiastically approved fiscal sponsorship and promotional backing for the venture. Today, the project is governed by a dedicated ten-member volunteer committee, which includes three BADC board representatives.
As a juried platform, a panel of three independent judges reviews and selects new submissions each February. In its first four years, BADPG experienced significant growth, expanding its roster from nine founding contributors to 26 active photographers. As of 2026, the gallery curates a living archive of more than 700 images, serving as a historic visual record of the community's natural spaces for generations to come.
