2026 Community Needs Forum

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, the Barrington Area Development Council (BADC), the Barrington Rotary Club, with support from the Barrington Area Community Foundation, joined together to host a Community Needs Forum (CNF) at Barrington's White House.

The forum brought together more than 70 individuals from across the Barrington area, as defined by the boundaries of Barrington Community Unit School District 220, to engage in a meaningful dialogue about the unmet needs within our community.

The purpose of this gathering was to identify where our community is thriving and where renewed focus, collaborative partnerships, or additional resources may be beneficial.

Participants were grouped by table and engaged in facilitated discussions where they explored community strengths, barriers, unmet needs, and emerging opportunities across the following topic areas:

  • Communication

  • Community Belonging and Inclusion

  • Conservation and Environment

  • Family Resources

  • Future Vision and Community Planning

  • Mental Health Awareness and Access

  • Recreation and Community Engagement

  • Senior Services

  • Youth Development

The insights gathered through this process will help to guide our organization’s work to support and address the evolving needs of our community in the years ahead.
